Transportation Council/Transit Agency seeks Intern
The Position
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the TCTC Executive Director, the Intern will be assigned work on various projects designed to be a working and learning experience in the transportation planning and public transportation fields. The Intern will work an average of 10-20 hours per week, and no more than 1,000 hours per year.
REPORTS TO
Executive Director and Senior Staff of the Tuolumne County Transportation Council/Transit Agency (TCTC/TCTA)
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work on various projects as assigned by the Executive Director and Senior staff; The intern will support professional staff in the fields of Transportation Planning, Transit Services and Public Administration.
Work independently to distribute transportation and transit collateral (schedules, brochures, flyers, notices, etc) to various locations throughout Tuolumne County. Willingness to ride public transit, collect passenger surveys and ridership data. Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook/Instagram/Website) and content management. Willingness to attend public meetings, document public input, record meeting minutes.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Must be in attendance at, or on legitimate leave from, a community college or university (or a recent graduate). Academic background compatible to assigned projects is desired. Applicable areas of study can include: Political Science, Marketing, Business administration, Public administration or Regional/Transportation planning. If another field of study offers applicable background for the position, please state the study area, and share the experiences/skills/educational themes that relate to the job description.
Licenses and Certifications
Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
